I knew someone who worked for Warner Bros. He hated the entertainment business and left. We became friends through our mutual interests – writing.

He loved my work and told me if I ever did film or animation, to remain independent.

I couldn’t agree more, now.

I have had so many influencers copy my style, rip from my blogs – and not give an ounce of credit. Yet, they struggle daily to be original. Hoping to make quota for the day because they’re run by the system and not their ability to create.

I could never – especially the copy cat part.

Looking over my career and where I’ve landed, I am grateful I am my own master. Views and popularity are based on me and not the strange ideology of some algorithm, or someone’s attention span.

That means – the success of my work is entirely up to me. That I’m not afraid to take a break, or rest when need be. My life doesn’t depend on my fans (and let’s be real, people who wouldn’t bat a lid) or views and follows.

Even Meta is shifting gears towards smaller creators because we put out quality content. While the mega influencers are barely keeping afloat now. They all do the same things – trending videos, eating videos, vacation videos, high end fashion no one wants videos…the list goes on.

Someone for Instagram realized how fake it was, and turned the switch off. A lot of people lost their profiles or followers. Including higher ups like actors and singers.

It is because the idea of whatever happened between 2016 and now…was exhausted the moment it started. Almost all the mega influencers are either

Homophobic

Pedophiles

Drug addicts/alcoholics

Money launderers

Sexual predators

Racist

The list can go on, unfortunately.

And now everyone is sick of them. Including me.

I’m glad I stuck to my goals, saw things through and that my book is thriving. I received so much recognition last year…and I didn’t do anything harmful to anyone to receive it.

This is a time for healing – and real content. Everyone is tired.

Except for the true creators.
