Like any word, scarcity can be shifted, varying on the situation. A much needed item can be scarce. Like water or food. Knowledge even.
Love too, which is not necessarily tangible, can be lacking.
But we often don’t use this word or think to do so when it comes to mindset. I see this thought pattern displayed in different ways, and it all stops at the same point.
Excess.
When you think you have nothing, it appears that way. So you constantly seek to gain whatever you think fills that void. If you cannot move away from that process, you will forever be doomed to repeat it until you realize what you’re doing.
Consumerism is a great example of the scarcity mindset and filling that void. There are many ways to work around it, but you always find yourself trapped somehow. The idea is to notice your shortcomings, and work on ways to help heal those areas of your life.
Eventually, you’ll realize you do have everything you need, and nothing, in fact…actually fills that void. Except for your awareness.
Instead of guilt, replace it with understanding, realizing you’ve shed light on an issue. Because guilt is another sector of the scarcity mindset (“I’m not doing enough.” “I need _____ for this to work.”)
Obviously, when you really do need something, it’s not scarcity, it’s a need. We’re talking about major perpetrated extremes that have been pushed on society, and this is why a lot of people feel like they’ll meet their doom.
When more people begin to realize they have what they need, things will shift. I’ve never been able to function when I’ve had more than I needed. One way or another, it’s removed from my life, always opening another door.
Just food for thought.
