Met My Match

My fingers idle momentarily, and during my pause I fight with myself.

Perhaps I made a mistake?

Block.

I do what most women do and suggest it needed to be done. He won’t care or notice.

Right?

An hour goes by and I check my phone…

Oh shit…

He’s gone to my website…guilt sinks in. I roll things over in my mind. Maybe I’m being harsh and unrelenting? Or, impatient and scared. Maybe all of the above.

Unblock.

He won’t notice. We barely know each other. I feel better that he’s not unreachable, and a tiny thought rolls into mind – if he deemed me any sort of important…that won’t stop him.

Ha – we’ll see.

The next morning, after completing my motherly duties, I check my phone. There, at the top of all notifications is his name, and a message. I gasp in disbelief at what I’m seeing.

I take a moment before bothering, and I open up his message and respond. Not only that, he’s followed me again. He means business.

It means he spent 24 hours waiting to see if he’d been unblocked. It means he does care. And at this point, I chose correctly. He didn’t do anything – I panicked.

Relationships are difficult, compassion eases us through them. I thought I chose wrong and he thought he lost me. He didn’t send roses, or give me a story…but he established that we started something, and we’re not done.

We are sick with power now – everyone. I think there are good men, but they’re hard to find. I don’t agree with the agenda going on. Women need way more respect. But the world needs balance…

I’ve decided a long time ago, that most people just talk too much…the internet proves that time and time again. We’re now so caught up in our fear…we don’t give people opportunities over small, silly things. Not insults or obvious infidelity.

Confusion and anxiety.

I will continue to quietly write about this – but I’m not revealing his name or profession. He’s well known, as am I 🤭 I like it better knowing everyone is clueless!
