Inward

This has been the topic of conversation since last night – and one of my mutual followers mentioned something worth repeating this morning.

Before I share screenshots of the post – let’s talk about getting in our own way. The person who commented is a lifestyle coach. It’s literally his job to help people help themselves.

I am an artist – so it’s my job to create.

I have walked many paths, but the one that served me the most was choosing myself, and what that meant for my future and as an example unto my kids.

When you choose yourself, the script the world and those close to you have handed you no longer makes any sense. You are aware and willing to understand yourself so you can understand others.

It doesn’t mean the end result needs to be magical, but knowing where you stand and feeling wholesome is such a wonderful feeling.

Getting in your way is egotistical, fearful and painful. You, yourself blot out any attempts of growth and understanding. While your environment can shape you, what you do with your trauma is on you.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel – and you will constantly need to work on yourself. But rewiring how you perceive who you are is absolutely worth the effort.

Also, keep in mind that success will be different from the next person. Comparisons are mental traps we set for ourselves. There is never a need to compete. You are actually challenging yourself at all times.

“How I feel and how far I’ve come are the true treasures here.”
