Hidden Reality

Did things get worse or have they always been bad?

My boys and I are transitioning. I started school for psychology recently, and things have been looking up. We’re residing in a studio apartment now. While things are still tight…it beats where we were.

I’m not one to steal for food, so watching residents where I stay send their kids downstairs to steal muffins and coffee is wild. Yes, it’s free. It’s greed when you take more than you need. Seven muffins, one kid? Maybe, none of my business…

But I know if I did things like that, it wouldn’t end well for me.

I can’t fix their problem, so I won’t judge. It makes me really sad, actually. Life has gotten extremely hard for a lot of people.

I just know that for certain, skirmish behavior makes your problems linger longer. I don’t know how long it’s been like that for most, but I know when I force my hand, things crumble further.

You don’t need a lot, and you don’t have to rip it from anyone’s hands either.

Watching unfold is sad. Knowing why things happen makes it even sadder.
