15 Minutes of Fame

The growing haze to become famous, especially online, is still lingering.

Particularly with those who have had a spotlight.

When you’re building your brand, your focus should be doing what you love, and having a backup plan. I have rubbed elbows with higher ups from Hollywood to your basic content creator – they’re all human, calm down.

The sad part is – a lot who’ve experienced some type of high from their short lived fame don’t know how to stay afloat after the cameras stop flashing.

Oftentimes, they look for who they believe to be the unbeknownst – someone they can suckle off of until they become famous again.

Not this content creator.

I addressed the situated before it proliferated –

“I don’t work with other writers. They all do the same thing.“

I doubled back with –

“I’m going to harass this recording artist to see if he read my book.”

Silence.

Like I hit an off switch. The right button, it seems.

I mulled it over with a friend.

“He’s definitely digging,” she said, “be best if you stayed away from him.”

I’m not sure if that ploy worked on anyone else, but my success is my own. Find your own avenue on your own terms…in your own way.

It’s becoming more and more common…we are seeing content creators who were once held in high esteem falling to the way side.

Because they’re human.

Everyone wants to be famous and rich. There are many avenues to take. No one wants to take the high road…and no one wants to take their time. I keep seeing the same thing over and over.

Washed up. On drugs. Forgotten. Clinging on to nostalgia. Self entitlement. Abuse. Grandeur delusion.

I would be very careful with who you work with, because those who can’t keep grips on their shattering reality will take anyone down with them. The right people will find you.
