The Hustle to be Creative

As far as the eye can see – everyone is on social media “creating.”

So when people say they wish they could create like me, they mean “I would like to use my gifs for servitude.”

Because that’s exactly what you’re doing, especially when you’re going live and anything else associated with it. If you are working and not creating, you’ve missed the point.

How did 🥀The Fray🥀 do so well?

I had fun. I stepped out of my comfort zone and I wrote that book for me. That’s how. I didn’t evolve my expectations around a social experience either. And I took my time.

I’m not falling for the hype. “Make a video using this song.” “Go live to earn rewards.”

No. I have my content and my music.

Which, by the way…I receive royalties for using my music on my content. Smart business.

Look. You will forever run after money if you chase it. And you will never get what you’re seeking because you want to chase it. You are choosing to be miserable, overworked and tired.

You are giving your energy away instead of ascending and reaching a point that money comes to you. And you’re giving away your creative energy in the process.

There. Someone finally said it. After lockdown, everyone became artsy and worked from home doing their craft.

A lot of artists lost their momentum. Doesn’t anyone find it interesting that everyone is creating and pushing it online? That’s energy your selling, loves. Energy that you need.

Working for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok incentives doesn’t make you self made. It’s another form of slavery. I’m not saying don’t use these platforms to showcase your work – don’t fall for the hype past that.

You weren’t paying attention.

Now you know.
