Standing Firm

I wrote about this recently, and it looks as though Meta is doubling down.

Content creators can sigh a breath of relief – Meta has stated that if anyone basically regurgitates content they did not make, their account will not be shown to any new viewers. Meta is specifically focusing on people who create original content at all times. And if you are found to rip and repost content not belonging to you, the first consequence is the lessening of your audience.

You don’t want to believe people do it, but they do. This means original content is a bit safer. To be certain – we’re not talking about sharing content to stories or reposting on Instagram. We’re speaking on fully fledged ripped from and reused content. There are so many accounts that do this, and have the original creator with nothing.

I also hope Meta cracks down on people AI images of content creators, and using it as if they are the original, but that’s a completely different topic.

This crack down sends a message – stop stealing. It’s weird and sad. A lot of us creators work very hard to get our content seen. Having some nobody looking for loopholes for a little change is very disheartening.
