New Years!

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

I’ve recently learned (and had to say “I knew it!” out loud) that New Years is actually around spring. It was celebrated this way by of course pagans and I would say, indigenous tribes of this beautiful planet. But the Gregorian Calendar has us operating like robots, removing even the thirteenth month and hour (all of which occurred around 1930, hint hint)

I believe strongly in the occult and spiritual, as I experience THIRTEEN periods in a year (So there’s no such thing as a blue moon) With this newly found out information, by my knowledge at least, it’s safe to say when I’ll be celebrating New Years!

Now, as far as why it’s my favorite holiday…the reasons behind celebrating. Leaving the old behind, welcoming the new. Celebrating the life that passed. It’s all beautiful and a thing you should commonly do. Making space for future blessings, and letting go of the past keep you in balance. It’s a holiday that doesn’t seemed to be governed by someone else’s religion for the most part – a holiday that allows space for everyone.

I love how happy people are, the spring in their steps. Their need to hug you, or high five your existence.

I wholeheartedly believe it should be like that everyday, but it’s nice to see it observed.
