And here I was, thinking I had failed.

If you’ve been paying attention to the story unfolding, you’ll know by now that I walked away for a reprieve. To clear my head.

I had tens of thousands of fans, and was Meta Verified – which was no small feat. 

Things have changed since we last spoke.

Firstly, my new Instagram and Threads accounts are now Meta Verified. To understand this challenge for me…

I am self published, so I also promote on my own accord. There is no telling who sees your work, or who even cares for that matter. I have just proven that sellings millions of records, books or being so famous that you crap gold is a big fat lie. 

In 2022, I became eligible for the mysterious blue check mark, only known to celebrities. Someone for Meta realized anyone contributing to the greater good – artist. People who make the world move. They deserved recognition as well. It was harrowing. I worked for free for a decade. While I had made friends with certain celebrities on my old Facebook account, I felt a little out of place. 

Then one sunny day in late August of 2022…everything changed. At least career wise…because I still wake up with morning breath! I was happy to see that my efforts were not in vain…considering I spent the majority of my career in disbelief. I had worked so hard. I was suffering from imposter syndrome…everyone around me adult wise was enjoying the sight as I suffered in silence. 

I gathered several factors that led me to that point, but I threw it all away in 2023 for the love of my twin flame. I consider our relationship far more important, and I was okay with having to start over.

Lo and behold, about a month ago, two things happened. Meta advised that all of my book accounts on instagram were blue check mark eligible. When I deleted those accounts to clean up my schedule, Meta once again acknowledged the account I currently use now. 

That is respect, earned and gained. I went through so much, I worked extremely hard…my arms were holding onto everything I could manage to keep…

And when I said…it’ll be alright…

It was. 

I’m writing this to encourage others to understand how the tables have turned in everyone’s favor. Don’t listen to the outside noise. People bent on hurting you. Listen to your dreams, listen to your passions.

Listen to the woman who endured hell to smile again. As my boyfriend said the other night, “Now, I run the place.” 

It is never too late to start…you are not wrong for doing things the right way, as I did. I hustled hard, I never gave in, or sold myself and talents away. I didn’t trade anything under the table. I stayed true, original and consistent. I wrote when I didn’t want to…illustrated when I didn’t think it would be well liked.

And the moment I waited for is here.

Second to that, Snapchat upgraded my public account to Creator – I have all the benefits and perks of a yellow star account. I’m working my way up in that regard. Because of that, I have become eligible for brand partnerships. I have brands in mind, but haven’t jumped into creating any content because I am always busy. Once I get around to that, I will of course, share the results here on my website.

In the midst of all of this, SHEIN randomly upgraded my account as well (hint hint). I seldom purchase from there, so I guess I’m glad my sway is so grand now. Initially, I will consider all of my options, but this isn’t the first time a company has upgraded my benefits when my efforts were lacking on my end. JustFab did so in 2022-23, after my verifying purchases were returned (wanna know what it’s like to be famous? Free stuff!). That jetsoned me into Diamond Elite status (eye roll, because what) but the benefits were amazing. 

None of the things that have been occurring have ever really been on my mind, I live my life day by day. What I am most grateful for are the changes I’ve made, and the healing I have done. While raising my vibration has certainly opened the door for great opportunities, I am happy with my life and where I am.
