Do you have any collections?
My collection is unusual for this day and age.
Before I go too far you should know that I am six foot tall and full figured . Shopping is a nightmare. Everything made for the public is meant to last a season.
In my younger twenties, I found this to be very disheartening. I knew it created unimaginable waste. Not just in the US, worldwide.
At about 23-24, I decided to stop buying sandals every summer. I did my best to take care of what I purchased when I realized later on, my best bet would be shoes and handbags made from leather.
When I did an internet search, the first things that showed up with high end items. I wasn’t impressed, and felt it was a waste of time. I ventured elsewhere, and came across brands and some nameless brands that suited my tastes.
It wasn’t until I was 35 that I decided to start sewing again. For two years, I have replaced every single item of clothing in my wardrobe, with something I created. The very first outfit I made has no pilling or faded designs. And I wore it often.

From feather chokers to faux leather bodices, I made it all. Earrings, necklaces, handbags, dresses…even chemises. I had grown weary, obviously. And this had set me free. Most of the fabric was either on sale or in the clearance bin, I should mention.
I plan on continuing this, and building my very odd collection.
Why do I say it’s odd? It goes against societal normalities. People seem to like having everything done for them, not realizing how much of their power is taken away in the process. While people often commend me on my choices, they also act like it’s the hardest thing to do.
It isn’t impossible and taking steps to learn something shows you the magic behind a craft (that was a play on words)
My next venture is creating a coat to my liking, and creating my wedding dress. I will actually start designing my wedding dress this year.
Here are a few of my designs and the results! >>>Rebellious – Needle and Threaf

I think that’s an amazing collection to have. Everything is tailored just for you and how much fun picking out the fabric and designing your look. Do you design your own patterns?

That’s a great question! I always have a design in mind, and typically illustrate my ideas out before sewing. I do not use patterns, and everything turns out great 😊 when I get the chance, I will post my designs!

I will post the link in this blog. It worked fine for me, I’m not sure what happened. Technology is annoying!

I think it might be something to do with my WordPress. The same thing happened when I clicked on another link. I’m still trying to figure out how all this works. Everything is new to me here and well, I’m not the quickest learner nor a savvy computer technician. It might take me a while to figure it out but I will 😎
