What is something you wish you could tell your 20-year-old self?
As I have gotten older, I’ve slowed down quite a bit. I was raised to “hurry up and get it done,” and honestly, why? So I did. All of my days – rush here and rush there.
I wish I would have taken in the scenery a little more. I wish I would have taken a deep breath and stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and admired the clouds rolling by.
I would certainly tell my younger self – you have all the time in the world to figure things out. Slow down and take a break. It will pan out better than you realize.
The need to rush kills people in more ways than one. You’re running someone else’s race…and even if you weren’t, there is never a need to rush. I find that when I’m compelled to do so, I end up making mistakes and frustrating myself even further.
You miss the details…and the flowers.
