I don’t know everything, but I do know a scam when I see one!
I woke up to an Instagram account offering me the chance to have my book reviewed. Since my manuscript is legally published everywhere, I know for a fact that if GoodReads and Amazon dicier you’ve paid for reviews, they can remove your work.
The other odd thing about this is…it wouldn’t be genuinely read or felt. To drive traffic in for your book makes sense. Anything else isn’t authentic. People have to want to buy and read your book, you can only do so much.
Honestly, why did I not consider scam reviews to be a thing? Despite how others feel, I’m not in a rush to get to one place. I love the pace I am taking, and to be honest…I am very happy with how everything turned out for The Fray.
Running ads doesn’t entirely by guarantee you will be seen, or you’ll have a positive experience. Writing a book doesn’t mean people will buy it or read it. Having a plan is great…but what if it doesn’t work out?
Life is more than accomplishing goals and making money. Don’t you want to have fun?
That’s why I’ve titled the blog People Are Funny. I have to remember that I reset and changed my values, but other people may still be catching up.
