My Leap of Faith

Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.

You would think that when I started writing is when I stepped blindly into the unknown. While that was a new experience for me, the biggest risk I took was late 2023. Buts let’s start at 2015.

No one tells you anything – getting organic reach only happens if you’ve been around long enough. If you’re new, organic reach that sticks is rare. I really wanted my books and my career to do well, I suddenly decided to change the things I was doing.

I went with a new look – pastel hair. I took photos and showed my face on my pages…

I ran ads overseas…that was one of the risks. I had no way in knowing if that would be successful. And it was certainly was. Within a few days, I went from 400 follows to 16k. That was early 2016.

Vida approached me about my art, and had hunted me down for nearly a month, views skyrocketed, even downloads for my novels were doing well. All because I wasn’t afraid anymore.

I ran another ad on this old Facebook page, and got up to 63k followers, and for a while, I had nearly 79k followers with all of my accounts combined.

And then I walked away from everything…I had a movie in queue, I’d built up my accounts so they were blue check mark verified, I was earning money through Meta, and had become a billionaire’s fascination. When I walked away…that was the greatest risk I’d ever taken.

And it opened up so many other doors. Since doing so in 2023, everything has gone in my favor.

If you are afraid to take a risk, you are allowing fear to dictate your life. Some of us stay living in fear – and we are afraid of people who try a little harder.

But if I didn’t believe things would turn out alright, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
