Spring Cleaning

Don’t make space to receive – rather that you are grateful.

This year has been amazing so far. I was able to replace my entire wardrobe – then a good friend sent me fourteen dresses (she’s expecting!)

For a couple of years, I made a lot of my clothes. This was a lot of fun, but a very difficult decision awaited me – giving away what I no longer needed.

While sewing did help, it was also a way to release aggression, disappointment, and fear. I felt a sense of self making my own things. I also received a lot of compliments, and the entire experience made me feel a lot better about myself.

But I knew the time was coming. Wearing things for a couple of years does toll on the fabrics, so nothing given away (or needing to be discarded) was brand new.

What I also learned in this time, is that anything you create from a low vibration especially…needs to be cleared out entirely. I sustained myself from a place of pain. Short and simple – I was in survival mode. Now that I am no longer in survival mode, there isn’t a reason to hold on to anything sustaining me through those moments.

A way to trip ourselves up is clinging onto things we used, created, or experienced when we were surviving. Also, when we were healing unseen parts, and when we were transitioning.

When you remove the clutter, you make way for the new. And what better time to do this than a spring Mercury Retrograde!

I have a wonderful new wardrobe, and no worries honestly. I’m not huge on shopping, so I won’t replace much for a while. But I am grateful for the opportunities presented to me.

Time to welcome the energy that comes with change, transition and gratefulness.
