Old Money

What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?

I’m what’s known as old money, and wouldn’t be so if I touched it. This isn’t to brag, it’s to make a point.

So the risk is doing necessary paperwork, and filing to have the money. And I’m not certain that’s wise.

Money is great, but it’s never solved any of my problems. I’ve actually solved most of them by changing how I think and go about things.

I’ve noticed people believe the rich buy high end luxury items, and it’s certainly the other way around. Oftentimes, people who are well off have things custom made for them. People who are considered poor typically think Louis Vuitton makes them look rich – attempting to look the part.

Namely, those who are wealthy find intelligent ways to keep their funds. Huge misconception there. I wouldn’t go off of what you see on TV or celebrities…they’re all apart of making things look a certain way. To get people who are “less fortunate” to spend their hard earned money, and go along with the play at hand.

This is why you’ll notice that I sew – I use money to buy fabrics and similar items they will last me a lifetime in some cases…money well spent. Also, since I have the time, I was able to curate the perfect wardrobe. I intend on fixing my clothing, to lessen what’s known as fashion waste. It has helped in recent years

However, when I’m older, I want to travel and purchase an original Chanel handbag. This isn’t an aching desire. It’s a gift to myself. I’ve chosen 50 years of age, which is 13 years from now. So I have time to allow my fortune to accumulate as well.

I haven’t been able to take this risk because I am concerned about digging a hole for myself I won’t be able to get out of. I’d no longer hold the family fortune, and that’s very foolish. It was passed down to me for a reason, so I’d like to do well, even on my own behalf.
