If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?
As a child, I dreamed of changing a lot of things. My name was certainly one of them!
My first name is Persian. Jasmine, a popular flower (and scent) from the East. However popular and longed for the fragrance is, the meaning of the name…and the time that is blooms is why I never changed it.
Most jasmine flowers are moon flowers! Meaning, they bloom at night. Can you imagine taking in the night, and smelling a sweet aroma, as if sent from the heavens above?
Speaking of heavens, the name Jasmine means, “gift from God.”
The older I got, and the more research I did, I realized my name was certainly meant for me.
I actually have a song I orchestrated named Moon Flower (please listen to the sample below!)
However, I do understand why some people want to change something like their name. Perhaps they don’t know enough about it, even if it seems simple or unattractive. As I have grown, and continue doing so, my mindset has changed. I appreciate everything around me, not so much that I don’t want to miss anything.
More so because life is fascinating as it is also terrifying. Please enjoy Moon Flower, shown below
