Humans, always heading toward the light. Bumbling through their own darkness, seeking sovereignty and objectifying being free by being able to see.
Ignoring their own shadows, pretending they’re not there.
What’s a blinding light to oncoming darkness?
If darkness didn’t exist…light would have no purpose.
Maybe…your darkness isn’t as bad as you’ve been fooled into believing. Because you can, in fact, be blinded by darkness.
Maybe…accepting your darkness will save you.
Yes. Your vices. Your guilty pleasures.
Your pain, your suffering.
Your shame.
All of it is useful in finding your way through your own abyss. Because blinding light only means you’re self righteous and are consciously avoiding the truth.
Most of the pain we go through is of our own doing. Even after you’ve been hurt…we cling on to the pain. We do so thinking it’ll serve reverence. When it slowly kills us until we come the next perpetrator.
Acceptance is such a vital tool in our road to wholeness, yet a lot seldom speak on accepting our darkness because most are selling you a lie. That means they’re avoiding their shadow work as well.
I love my shadows. We eat dinner nightly, and they tell me what I need to know in order to take the next step in my life. Because without sifting through my shadows, I wouldn’t have come face to face with my higher self – who was shrouded in black, a golden beacon of light.
I remind myself of my darkness often. We coexist because my demons are apart of me, as are my angels.
While some of this is metaphorical – the light at the end of the tunnel is another door that will lead you into another dark place you need to circumnavigate to understand your true self.
