Not Keeping My Mouth Shut

I am Afro Mexicana, and proudly American.

No, I don’t watch football, so I didn’t watch the halftime show. However, I have words.

First out of the gate – someone mentioned people shouldn’t complain because they eat salsa, chips, guacamole and drink tequila.

Pause.

Bad Bunny, Benito…is Puerto Rican. So that’s mofongo, plantain chips, and rum. Speaking on behalf of other races shows America has a long way to go.

When I posted my original shot at that on threads, someone…WHO WASN’T LATINO, said I was being divisive.

No. I’m not.

To use a general comparison to all Latin cultures is insulting. This person didn’t even try. That is the entire point behind why there are issues. Effort is a requirement.

Here is a place my rant will stay. When someone gets the ingredients wrong for a cake, it doesn’t bake well. The instructions were clearly in front of them, and they decided otherwise.

That is exactly what you do when you generalize culture. That is the issue! And it goes down the pipeline, builds up and sheds out racist. If you were unknowing, think before you speak. Research what Borikens consume.

Rage baiting is everywhere, as is the lack of common sense. I hope this rubs you the wrong way and makes you think. People generalize blacks, Asians, and other people of color. Anything for likes, right?

I’m speaking because everyone is missing the point, and it seems to be on purpose as psychology suggests nothing done is ever on accident.

Fight battles with strategy and intelligence. Stand up for people without trying to stand out. Be wise in your words and actions…and mean that shit.
