If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?
I’ve written twelve novels, and there’s a series of mine where I’m more than likely going to pick the female protagonist. This book is available at Barnes and Nobles – The Dirty Deities.
Before I realized my characters were pieces of myself, I didn’t know who I wanted to be. But Alana – Reincarnation…is so fitting.
Originally, she had no idea the power she held. And even when she was aware of her power, she didn’t wield it to hurt anyone. She wanted love and protection.
I choose her because that’s what we all really want, but we’re distracted by the materialistic prison we’ve been set in. Eventually, Alana and her mate, Shawn Delgado find their way back to where they belong, but it doesn’t mean it happened over night. Despite Shawn’s best efforts to give Alana a full life…it was nothing in comparison to being together for eons, and never separating for any reason.
Alana sets the balance unknowingly, and was unaware until she becomes human. To some, that seems insane, but that is exactly the journey all humans take on Earth. Someone who loved her deeply, stepped in to protect and behold her, and ultimately she finds out anyway.
I love the idea that I wrote my own freedom into one of my favorite series I’ve created.
