Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
Intricately weaving my home. Trapping my food. Always near you, three feet in every direction…without your knowing. Intelligent. Adaptable.
And will rebuild if my web is destroyed.
Spiders are equalizers – they bring balance by killing off disease carrying pests. I admire them, as cunning and fast as they are, they still run to hide if a human is on the approach.
As of late, I’ve suddenly become friends with some of the spiders I find in my home. Last year, I caught and released a wolf spider. Once outside, it turned around to watch me, as if it were happy I set it free. Then on the lid of the jar, walked towards me, unbothered. It was cute.
I’ve been finding them all over my place, and they cooperate when I catch them.
At any rate, I make this comparison mostly because a spider will rebuild, regardless of the type of damage done to their home. I have persevered through countless odds, and I have never given up. I continue on, rebuilding if necessary.
As for catching my prey and eating it – I liken that to playing (Zynga) poker. I do not raise the bet ever, I only call, allowing the other player to assume they have the upper advantage. It works every time đź¤
While there are dangerous arachnids, most help bring balance. I have not only balanced my own life, I have helped others as well. Not because I think I’m best, but because I willingly give love and care.
To help balance others helps balance the world.
