No Chances Left

In early 2023, recording artist and MMA fighter Seckond Chance approached THÄ LØBÖ, asking him to record vocals for an upcoming song.

THÄ LØBÖ did so immediately, sent the samples off and waited holding his breath. The conversation was, that Seckond Chance would also feature the up and coming artist in his music video, which he would use for his walk out song for a fight, on Saturday December 14th.

He asked THÄ LØBÖ for his credentials so he could be accredited properly, after posting that he would feature the song, having not filled THÄ LØBÖ in after making prior promises beforehand.

THÄ LØBÖ sent his certificate for his trademark as proof, to which Seckond Chance said, “looks good, you’ll receive 15% pay…” and so on.

The following day, Seckond Chance reneged, suggesting he removed the vocals, which are owned by THÄ LØBÖ.

What happened here was – he was about to publish the song without the other artist’s permission, and when he was made aware, lied to cover his tracks. Instead of releasing the song in April 2024, he decided to not say anything at all, assuming THÄ LØBÖ wouldn’t know, as if he were a nobody.

When the mistake was caught, instead of saying no, he saved face by lying further.

This example is why I prefer to work alone.

While there was no significant harm done to THÄ LØBÖ, I gathered to shed light on this misleading behavior, considering communication did not occur until it was pointed out.

It’s always better to work with people you know well and trust, because even those who are well known will still try to steal from you or use you. Instead of being honest, when he realized his work was contractual, it was no longer suitable for thieving.

I will always address issues such as this.

Self made is the best way to go, but people will still try to use you at the end of the day. Hopefully Seckond Chance learns his lesson from this.
