You’re viewing the description of her mental illness. The novel takes place in the late 1890s, when mental illness was treated with great lengths that helped no one. There are several descriptions in my novel that paint the picture of Isabella Montage’s treatment, but I likened it to a super power. If you’re familiar with history, especially asylums and mental health diagnoses…you’ll know exactly which I describe without mentioning it (take a guess)
