Create an emergency preparedness plan.
Believe it or not, I don’t create such plans.
I feel that when you prepare yourself for an emergency…you wanted one to occur.
Humans run on fear fuel…which is why a lot of them are in such shambles right now, especially emotionally.
Life has taught me that you can never truly be prepared, to expect the unexpected but to flow with the situation at hand. Being prepared and realizing anything can and will occur will humble you.
Furthermore, holding onto materials you may never use is wasteful and silly.
For hurricanes? You board up your house and leave the city or state. If you’re on an island…is that applicable?
For blizzards, you stay in. And honestly, unless you’re new to that area…you should already have food.
Seriously, who came up with this?
For flooding…who doesn’t look at the weather? And can your efforts save your home? This is madness. The further I blog, the more I realize my original statement is more than true.
I’ve lost everything more than once. Fires, exes, mothers. Myself.
Live your beautiful life day to day and stop worrying if your photo albums will survive a flood. If the people featured in the photos survived…that’s really all you need.
