Was today typical?
Today has barely begun.
But to answer your question, no.
I recently decided to create my own dread locks using light pink wool. I had remnants left over from a previous project – a shawl I wove by hand.
The material was formed in such a way that I wondered if I could use it for other things.
Usually, when I say I’m going to do something like this, I often let the remnants sit around. However, a flash of insight made me realize there would be no harm in trying.
It took me two days to create the hair, and about three hours to install it. The best part is…it’s reusable. When I am finished, I can soak the dreads in water, let them dry and carry on.
Originally, I was going to buy faux dreads, but I do not like the materials they’re made from. They’re also usually not reusable. I’m not a fan of throwing items out that were created for a few uses.
Creating my own dreads also allowed me to make as many as necessary, so there was no waste…period.
I have been doing hair, all types, since I was 15. I have to admit that this is probably my biggest accomplishment so far. I will post the results here, on my blog site, when I get the chance.
