What are the most important things needed to live a good life?

Somewhere in our lives, we were taught or told what is deemed important to live life, to its fullest.

As I have grown with age, I realize a lot of that is confused with the truth of reality.

Money can buy everything except what you truly need. I would like to list a few.

1. Self understanding.

Why?

Because if you don’t understand yourself, you really won’t understand much else. Everything is connected, from the smallest ant to the largest sequoia. Money can make it seem you have the greatest life, but in truth…if you know nothing of your heart and soul…then you’re just a poor as a person living on the streets.

2. Patience

Why?

Good things take time to grow. Starting a career, a family or even reading a book all comes with the need of patience. If you rush, you’re a step closer to the grave. And all of life is a journey – you are constantly learning and patience allows time for thought, understanding, and reflection of the world around you.

3. Contentment

Why?

Assuming you need the latest technology or newest car will burn a hole in your pocket. Most living that dream have sold their souls to plastic relief, debt and self entitlement. I remember the Recession in 2008. The majority of the upper class neighborhoods had for sale signs up on expensive properties. Million dollar homes sat vacant and went to waste in some cases. It was reported that a large percentage of Americans were living off of credit.

But imagine if you were happy with what you needed? What would you lose if everything came crashing down? Maybe, everything. With the right attitude, it wouldn’t bother you, you would understand that the material world is often a trap, and as temporary as all fleeting moments lined with pleasure.

By doing good to yourself, in terms of recognizing your soul and raising your vibration…you can do good outwardly. And that, I believe, equates to living a good life.
