Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?
This will probably not come as a shock!
My favorite book growing up was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis. During my younger years, I read a lot of books, but very few stayed with me the way this book, and series did.
I did what most children do, and thought it was new! I later found out it was fairly old. I was fascinated with the plot, and characters.
Talking animals, portals in wardrobes, and a lion as the beloved hero of that world.
I don’t really feel the films did the books any justice, but they were interesting to watch.
Because of my loyalties to original works, I had a hard time accepting Harry Potter, until reading that series. In comparison, they are both great original works!
The first full length novel I finished was The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, at the age of eight. I haven’t changed my genre choices much as my life has gone along.
If you haven’t by odd chance, never read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe…I highly recommend.
