Rebellious – Needle and Thread

What transpired for me to take such drastic measures and create an entire wardrobe, both sewn and designed by me?

I was being courted by a billionaire who made a promise he didn’t intend on keeping. I entered the friendship as a professional, but he wanted me for himself.

You’re wondering, don’t you have money?

I do. But if I spend it on lavish things, I wouldn’t be rich…would I?

I spent a good chunk of my twenties avoiding buying useless items. My relationship with him, my social standing and my success didn’t change that.

So I began to sew to pass the time. The first few pieces I made were so nice, I challenged myself to change my entire wardrobe to almost all things I created myself. The number one question I hear is…did you use patterns?

Not at all. In fact, I had a vision of what each piece of fabric would become. Sometimes, I would go against the idea, but in most cases…I followed through.

By the time 2022 was over, I had my fill with Rockefeller and his broken word. In June of 2023, I asked for my script back and blocked him on every social media account we followed each other on. When I thought I had gotten rid of him, I found out my older phone had been compromised – I had Disney+ for free for six months after we parted ways. No surprise, considering he is in the film industry.

I didn’t like his response to his neglect. A simple and sincere, “I’m sorry,” would have sufficed. Or, “yes, let’s get your film squared away.” As was previously discussed. I barely watched Disney+ after realizing what had been done.

I still have a lot of questions. But walking away made me realize why I began sewing again in the first place.

I had been placed on a pedestal, and had we ended up staying together, any power I had would have been stripped from me – and not in a good sense. (Is it ever?)

So, I long to continue being rebellious.

With each ensemble, I began filling out my sense of creativity with longevity in fabric choices. From silk satin, poly knits, to 100% cotton pieces, there were no limitations.

The hardest pieces I’ve created are the faux leather bodices I own. Each piece was hand sewn, and took me about eight hours to complete.

Next to that, chiffon is difficult to cut but is so luxurious once finished. I also have a small fetish for feathers, and began adding these to some of my works. I realized small touches and changes made a huge difference in what I was looking for in particular.

As mentioned before, I am not done. However, I am taking a break at the moment, as romance and travel are at the forefront of my life.

I hope everyone gains this type of freedom.
