Topics I Like to Discuss

What topics do you like to discuss?

There are several things I like going over, but I will only cover just one.

Eventually, I would like to study psychology and psychiatry because the human mind is fascinating to me.

When I was growing up, my mother always said people don’t know any better. I felt that was more for children and adolescents. Adults had been around long enough to know.

As I grew older, I realized it was a religious belief that all humans were dumb – people are choosing to make poor decisions. I should know because I’ve had my chance to do so.

It is seemingly relative to your environment and upbringing. For example, if a parent did heavy drugs, there’s a likelihood their offspring may do so as well.

However, if your parents did not, and you’re doing drugs or anything harmful to your mind and body…you are most certainly choosing to destroy your life.

I was molested as a child, but I wanted better for myself. I chose which path I’d walk on. I was quiet, reserved and became extremely picky with the opposite sex because of that abuse. While it seems I did well, and in some areas I did, the idea of perfectionism sat in my mind and rotted.

So when I lost control, that was my go to – my looks and how I dressed, etc. I can liken it to having my liver eaten out everyday. I knew the consequences of my actions, but preferred my chosen insanity.

So I enjoy discussing choices, not to judge. But because even the most sanctimonious, well dressed person probably has the most ferocious monsters under their bed.

While I couldn’t not change what happened to me as a child, I carved my reality and my life around never harming others in such a way. However, the self harm I laid upon myself was much more severe.

In turn, I believe we choose a lesser evil. To some, that sounds absolute and insane. But balance isn’t about a perfect approach. The same goes with being in a relationship…pick your train wreck, as we are all damaged in some way.

How you choose to feel about this segment, too, will tip the scales in your life. we have more control than we’re led to believe, despite the world being absolutely terrifying.

And beautiful.
