Facebook has made changes to their algorithm, in favor of creatives like me, and I couldn’t be happier.
It is weird to know that people create pages to create nonsense, while others put together an entire graphic novel, webisodes (and so on) to be undercut by a video with either fraudulently acquired clips or AI formatting.
I wondered silently, and this turn around is tremendous for all creatives.
The article states that any low effort posts will be taken down – post where no one is speaking, regurgitated posts from a previous creator (taken without their permission) and silent watch-along vids.
It also states anything previously posted, but with slightly changed formatting will be taken down. I love it. I have a lot of content and I am always posting what comes to my mind. To hear Facebook wants to push more creative content to audiences makes me very happy – America especially needs a refresh.
I hope we tackle trends, where one hundred people take the same thing and make a video. I’m going to assume that is probably what they’re after as well – audio used from another video and it gets passed along thousands of videos…
Like you couldn’t make your own content?
Seriously, can we please hold people accountable for that? There are so many great artists who get bypassed because of regurgitated bs and audio I’ve heard a thousand times over.
The unfortunate outcome for this is a lot of people who are regurgitating content won’t be getting paid, and it’s going to be an alarming amount of “creators” getting videos pulled.
But it needs to be done. There are so many others like me who deserve the spotlight and cannot necessarily pay for ads…that are wondering why their content isn’t getting seen. When what you create is amazing, and only a small audience sees it…it is disheartening. Not to mention those hoping to make money from their content as well.
I am glad to see the odds are in our favor for now. Essentially, Facebooks aim is towards actual original content.
