The Medium Dilemma

The Space Between by JCS, brush tip marker

Yesterday, I purchased six alcohol markers, and experienced a crisis. For one, they’re pricey – $3-$5 a marker. Secondly, they work amazingly well. Lastly, they indeed smell like alcohol, and it was euphoric when it shouldn’t have been.

It is my first time buying these types, I stick to pencil, and acrylics for a while. Prior to that, I did a lot of digital art because it was easier and cheaper. Now, I am absolutely in heaven.

I would like more colors – blues and greens especially. That…and I bought pastels. I haven’t used pastels since I was fifteen.

I’ve been broadening my choices out of curiosity, or in the case of the pastels, a longing. But this has always been the case. I’ve studied most mediums except for sculpting (more with modeling clay, less with play-doh) and I would say pottery as well. Mostly due to lack of resources. I’m certain when I get my chance I’ll love those as well.

So this will be interesting!

I’m asking where I’m going to keep all of these supplies 😂
