Arguing With Idiots

I remove myself from situations where people assume a woman of color knows nothing.

If you’re a mortician now, your practice counts for nothing hundreds of years ago.

One of the major reasons formaldehyde is used when preparing a corpse is because of rigor mortis. This is when the muscles tense up after death, and the body becomes rigid. In earlier times (between the 1600s and early 1800s, mostly Europe) embalming fluid wasn’t used, nor did the removal of the organs occur after death. People were simply placed in coffins. As you can imagine, you’re digging a grave and hear a thump or a bump. The body can twitch or move a year after death, decomposition or not.

Unfortunately for certain villages in Transylvania, their myths about vampires were supposedly spawned from bodies that weren’t“properly” prepped and buried. In some instances, the eyes would open, blood would come out of the mouth or in very rare cases…the body would sit up…

It’s speculative and deserves research. I absolutely loved that, and did my own research.

We have just discovered religion is bad, I’m doubtful morticians have seen everything.

Firstly, one person accused me of falsifying information I learned, yet spelled rigor mortis “rigamortis” which is the absolute incorrect spelling, and a song.

Next, someone condoned her misspelled comment – sorry but they were both white. Also, the tone was unseemly and unkind. Despite the experience both claimed to have…the first couldn’t spell…which is required for morticians! The second would know this if she were actually a mortician as well. People have been fired for misspelling family names or chemicals used. How do I know this? I knew someone who was an apprentice…he had to take a written exam! Meaning, spelling and use of words will either get you hired or fired.

So the fact that one chose a song name, and the other went along with it led me to delete my comment. That was ignorant on both their parts. The other was part is, my comment was meant for fun, and they completely took it out of context…while being ignorant.

Instead of arguing, I moved on.

This happens a lot to me. White women always assume because I’m a woman of color, I’m stupid…when the majority I have come across can barely spell. Make that make sense!

I am not upset, but this is sad. Why lie about a career that requires the most tedious efforts? Spelling included? Is everyone truly that ignorant?

My comment, which explained a thesis on rigor mortis, was torn to bits by jealous white women. We’re this far in time and haven’t learned when to not speak? It’s a shame. When I disagree with something, I do not speak, because it will always be out of turn.

Lesson learned – white women do not like seeing beautiful women of color…with great vocabularies and history niches…living their best vampire life.
