My projects have eclipsed themselves, I am consecutively marketing for my manuscript, and my new song.
Originally, Unholy was going to be released on all streaming apps, but most recording companies, and the “major” streaming apps are owned by the big heads in the entertainment industry, and I’m not supporting any of it. Without the help of hollow dreams or a greedy agent, I was able to get 75k views simple by posting the song into some of my videos. This was when I was previewing it to the public.
I felt slightly cornered with my decision, but my significant other came across Band Camp. For those of you who are unaware of who or what they are…
They allow indie artists to not only publish their music on their website and app, they do so for free. I haven’t looked into the details of their membership they have, but artists shouldn’t be paying to stream anything unless they want to.
Next to that, Band Camp allows you to keep around 80% of royalties earned through purchases, and it goes directly to your PayPal account. Needless to say, while my approach is to keep my work…my own. I would rather people who truly enjoy it to actually purchase a copy, without needing to sign up for a monthly arrangement, where most artists lose out.
I create a lot, and I am seeking to continue creating, rather than profit off of my art. If that happens, I will be grateful. It isn’t a goal, at all.
With that being said, reads for The Fray surprisingly went up. I missed numbers for a pinned post on my blog site, bringing it up to 150 reads. To have engagement on my work is amazing, I’m glad it is being enjoyed. Currently, my manuscript sits at 81,400 words written so far.
It will not surpass 100k words, which means there is material for a second novel. That wasn’t planned. Anything larger than 100k words is too much. I am elated to have more material, but it won’t pass two novels.
Make sure to read the preview, available here on my blogging site!
