Imagine watching your world build up around you, while experiencing the sinking of others who did their best to make you feel less.
I am living proof of doing your best, and seeing the results. It doesn’t have anything to do with money, fame or accomplishments. It’s more connected to the sigh of relief I can do quite often. I am not dancing on anyone’s grave at the moment, and I don’t have to. I choose to be neutral towards negativity.
I blog often about sending someone’s ill intent back, and to let it go. But I never talk about how grand it is when you get into the habit of shaking someone else’s dust off, and walking away. You can actually get tripped up in trying to get them to see the good side of things. It’s a waste of energy because you cannot change anyone. Their perception, thoughts, their demeanor.
We hate hearing, “but you can change how you feel about it.” But it’s true. The point of individuals doing what they do is to drag you down with them. People believe explaining themselves helps, that is what they want. Exhaust your energy defending your honor. When really, you should walk away. It isn’t worth your trouble.
This is what I’ve learned in my life, and is probably one of the most essential skills I’ve picked up along the way. Loving myself, healing myself (inside and out) and walking away from fools.
Everyday is a great learning experience if you’re paying attention. You’re either using what you’ve learned , or, learning a new way to use it. Your goal, as an individual, should be to grow, heal and create. Really nothing more. That is the major reason we seem to always have someone doing the complete opposite. But, they’re not trying to dim your light, or turn you to “darkness.”
They want you to be as insidious as they are. Because even darkness has a purpose.
